Class Recipes 

Here I will post the recipes we have used in class. 

Crock Pot Applesauce

Ingredients

* 12 golden delicious apples

* 1/2 cup sugar

* 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

* 1/2 cup water

* 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Instructions

1. Peel and core apples.  Cut into fouths and place in crock pot.  Toss apples in lemon juice and then aadd  in sugar and cinnamon, stirring to combine.  Add in water. 

2. Cover with crock pot lid.  Cook on high for 3-4 hours, until apples are very softened.  Eat immediately or store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.  

Abuela's Tortilla Recipe

Ingredients

* 1 cup of flour 

* 1 teaspoon of salt

* 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil

* 1/2 cup of water

Steps

1. Mix the oil, salt, and flour.

2. Add the water.

3. Pat the dough with your hands.

4. Make little round balls from the dough.

5. Pat the dough into round, flat circles.

6. Have an adult heat the cooking pan.

7. Place the dough in the pan.

8. When you see bubbles on top of the tortilla, it is done!

Our Modifications

1. We used masa (corn flour) instead of wheat flour.

2. We only used a 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

3. We patted the dough into circles with our hands and then used a rolling pin.
