Meet the Teacher

The Basics Hi! My name is Keri and I am 30 years young. I have lived in Corvallis for about 8 years but about a year ago my husband and I bought a house in Albany. This summer I got married at the Philomath Scout Lodge and am excited to be Mrs. Gross this year. I am so happy to be your child's kindergarten teacher for the 2019-2020 school year! This will be my 7th year teaching kindergarten and my 6th year at Clemens Primary School. I am excited to meet you all and to make this my best year yet!

My Childhood I grew up in Tigard, Oregon with my mom, dad, 2 sisters, and numerous pets. I enjoyed going camping, riding bikes with friends, watching my favorite movies, and playing at the neighborhood park. I also participated in plenty of sports including: swim team, softball, basketball, track, water polo, and even gymnastics lessons. In 2007, I graduated from Southridge High School in Beaverton.

My Family

My Education In Spring of 2012, I graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Human Development & Family Sciences as well as a BS in Education. I also had the pleasure of swimming for the OSU Womens Swim Team for 4 years. Go Beavs! In 2017, I earned a Master's Degree in Education with a Reading Endorsement at Western Oregon University. I love learning and go to teaching conferences every year in order to improve my teaching.

My Philosophy

I believe that every child can learn. All students can do great things when given high expectations. We work hard and have fun every day. I teach through direct instruction in whole group and small group settings. Students will do independent work and learn through playing in centers.
